Mother Sees What Employee Did In Front Of Elderly Woman, Requests To Speak With Manager

A mother took to Facebook to share a story of a Target employee who became an example for her children when it came to exercising patience and understanding.

Sarah Owen Bigler’s Facebook post went viral after it was shared online.

In the post, Bigler explained that she went to Target with her two children and hoped to be in and out of the store relatively quickly:

I found a line with just one person ahead of me and began organizing my items on the conveyor. After placing my items, I look up to see that the person ahead of me was an elderly woman. She was paying for her items with change and wanted to purchase each separately. Part of me, the part that had a long day at work, the part of me who had a 1 1/2 year old having a melt down in the cart, the part that had set an unnecessary timeline for Target and getting home, was frustrated with this woman and the inconvenience she had placed on me.

She went on to describe how the Target cashier handled the situation.

“BUT then I watched the young employee with this woman,” she wrote. “I watched him help her count her change, ever so tenderly taking it from her shaking hands. I listened to him repeatedly saying ‘yes, mam’ to her. When she asked if she had enough to buy a reusable bag, he told her she did and went two lines over to get one for her and then repackaged her items. Never once did this employee huff, gruff or roll his eyes. He was nothing but patient and kind.”

Bigler then noticed that her daughter, Eloise, was watching the employee closely the entire time.

“She was standing next to the woman, watching the employee count the change. I realized I hadn’t been inconvenienced at all. That my daughter was instead witnessing kindness and patience and being taught this valuable lesson by a complete stranger; furthermore, I realized that I too needed a refresher on this lesson,” she wrote.

When it was finally Bigler’s turn to check out, the employee thanked her for her patience with the previous customer.

“I then thanked him for teaching us patience and kindness by his treatment of that elderly woman. And although my timeline for target was askew, when he was finished I pushed my cart through the store trying to find the manager,” she wrote. “I wanted her to know of the employee’s, kindness and patience, and how much it meant to me. After tracking her down and sharing the story with her, we left Target with a cart full of consumable items, but what is more a heart full of gratitude for such an invaluable lesson.”

Many readers praised the employee for being such a good example for the woman’s children.

“Thank you for sharing this story,” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page. “The world needs more young people like this young man . He will be rewarded.”

Mom’s Response To Marshalls After Run-In With Employee Quickly Goes Viral (Photo)

A mom’s account of her experience at the store Marshalls in Oregon has gone viral, outraging nursing mothers everywhere.

Karina Gomez says she was shamed for breastfeeding while shopping at a Marshalls in Portland. She posted a photo on the department store’s Facebook page and wrote a detailed account of the incident.

Gomez wrote:

“Yes, this is me sitting on a toilet feeding my sweet, Katalina Maria, after I was denied my right to breastfeed where I wanted to by a #marshalls employee.

I was denied to breastfeed in a dressing room, instead I was directed to a bathroom stall to breastfeed. What a way to treat breastfeeding customers, shaming them for breastfeeding, making them feel embarrassed that you need to feed your child. I am angry, upset, but more so humiliated. My rights have been violated.”

Oregon law does protect the right of nursing mothers to breastfeed their children in public, and Marshalls issued a statement to local news station KGW apologizing for the incident.

The statement read:

“Thank you for reaching out to us. We have a breast feeding policy in place which instructs Associates to allow customers to breastfeed as they choose within stores.

We have looked into this matter and regret that it may not have been followed in this instance. We have asked the customer involved to reach out to us directly so we may resolve the matter and again, apologize for any inconvenience. ”

But the apology wasn’t enough for Julianna Gjerman, a local mother who was outraged by the incident.

“I felt that was ridiculous, I felt like they should have contacted her directly and taken care of it themselves,” Gjerman told KGW. “It’s shameful, it’s embarrassing. Here’s another story of a mom who was shamed for breastfeeding in public.

“I’ve seen quite a few of them.”

Gjerman added she is helping to organize a “nurse-in” at the Marshalls store on Monday at 11:30 a.m. She hopes the event will send a strong message to the department store and businesses everywhere.

“They need to train their employees,” Gjerman added. “I think all retail, restaurants, they need to be more aware of how to approach situations like this, and be more appropriate.”

This immediately started going viral and soon, Coty received a call letting her know that Enterprise was not only buying her a double-stroller so she didn’t have to carry those twins herself, but that they had a surprise in store for their star employee, John.letter

He Told His Boss He Might Be Late Because His Baby Is Sick. Here’s How The Boss Responded.

Just as one man started a new job, he was hit with some terrible news. His baby girl was born prematurely and things did not look good. She had to be helicoptered to a facility with an intensive care unit for babies.

This put the man in a very difficult situation. He wanted to be with his little girl but he also didn’t want to lose his newly acquired job. With only 2.5 vacation days in his name, he tried to work something out with his boss.

I just started a new job and my wife was due with our first daughter in 3 months. Well, my daughter came about 1.5 months early and due to several medical problems on top of being premature ended up being helicoptered to the NICU in a city about 3 hrs away. Because I was so new, I couldn’t use any vacation time and I had only earned around 2.5 days of sick leave.
“I was an emotional wreck to say the least when I called my boss and told him the situation. I somehow tried to convince him that I would just drive to and from the NICU 3 hrs each way to work every day so I could be with my daughter after I used up my sick time. He said, “NO WAY”, marched down to HR and told them to take all the sick leave that I was going to need and donate it from his account so I could be with my daughter. It ended up being 2 weeks and I’ll respect that guy for the rest of my life. Best boss ever.

Employee Takes Photo Wearing The Store’s Clothes. What Her Boss Tells Her? She Quits!

I can only hope when faced with an uncomfortable situation, I can respond with the strength and conviction that Sherene Zarrabi did. The Oklahoma State University student was forwarded a pretty insulting email from her boss. It reminds me a lot of the Dillard’s employee who told a girl she would only look good in one of their dresses if she wore SPANX. It seems people are often more concerned with how others look rather than being a more compassionate human being.

Sherene works at a clothing store called Danity Hooligan. Besides working in the store, she also helps run its Instagram account. To show customers what items the store had, she would take photos of herself modeling a few of them.

As you’ll see in the photos below, Sherene looks great! However, her boss did not think so. The student was forwarded a very upsetting email that was highly critical of her appearance and of the fact that she doesn’t look like a stereotypical model. A lover of fashion, she would post images of herself wearing the Danity Hooligan’s clothing on the store’s Instagram. When her boss saw the photos, she sent Sherene an email that is now going viral.emailThe email says:

“Something I want to make sure you keep in mind: I want size small, the stereotypical ‘model’ type to model our clothes. Please use our pictures of our models if Stillwater can’t find someone who would be considered ‘model material.’

This is not to put anyone down but to communicate the expectations of presenting our brand. Don’t take it personal. All I ask is for really good representation. In exchange for the freedom, I ask you to take down all pictures of anyone that doesn’t fit the criteria.”


Needless to say, Sherene wasn’t going to feel bullied for not being a stereotypical model.

“This is an email I was forwarded earlier. I just want to start by saying this: I am fully comfortable with who I am and the way I look. I have recently been attacked and discriminated against by the owner of Dainty Hooligan,” she wrote on Facebook. “She went on our store’s Instagram and deleted all of the pictures where I was modeling the clothing and then sent this email to my manager.”selfie“I do not want to respresent or support a business that has such archaic values and beliefs. THIS is the reason young girls have body image issues. This is disgusting. I quit immediately and I suggest that my friends and family do not support Dainty Hooligan. Love yourself, no matter what you look like,” she said.

Maybe you think Danity Hooligan had the right to present their brand the way they want. But that’s not what’s important here. What’s important is that Sherene listened to her values, her truth, and her ideas of what true beauty is. Instead of taking the paycheck, she stood up for what she believed and left. That is what real beauty is: courage.
