Social media users slammed first daughter Ivanka Trump for what she wore to her father’s first address to a joint session of Congress.

Ivanka had been pictured wearing a bright red blazer and choker in the White House earlier on Feb. 28.

But for the event of the evening, the president’s daughter changed into a magenta-colored dress designed by French fashion designer Roland Mouret, which sells for $2,995, Yahoo! News reports.

The Rawlings Dress in orchid pink from the Resort 2017 collection is described online as “an easy choice for that evening affair when you think you have ‘nothing to wear.’ The design flourishes make this the ‘It’ dress for nighttime soirees.

“But what is ‘it’? Is it the asymmetric neckline or the sultry off-the-shoulder sleeve? Or is it the handkerchief peplum or the polished gold zip in the back? Whatever ‘it’ is, this dress has it in spades.”

The dress sports an asymmetric neckline cut with a black spaghetti over-the-shoulder strap.

Social media followers noted that Ivanka was able to show skin at the Capitol — namely her bare arms and shoulders — without courting controversy, whereas former First Lady Michelle Obama was skewered by the media for having done the same.

“[Ivanka]… why are you wearing a cocktail dress to a speech. You are trying too hard. #jackiekennedyyouarenot,” tweeted one user.

“What’s with [Ivanka’s] black bra strap. Not very classy,” posted another critical tweeter.

One follower tweeted: “I’m sorry if this makes me a bad feminist but what is [Ivanka] wearing? This is not a nightclub. #Jointsession”

“[Ivanka] Show respect for the institutions of our democracy. Your dress is fine for cocktails but not for a joint session of Congress,” tweeted yet another, the International Business Times reports.

“Remember all that crap about Michelle Obama showing her arms & if it was appropriate? Well, behold Ivanka and her shoulders,” came another.

The first lady was also criticized for her choice of wear.

Melania Trump’s $12,500 black sequined skirt suit, designed by Michael Kors, was deemed “inappropriate” for the event by one tweeter, with another stating it was more suited for a New Year’s Eve party.

The first lady has been wearing clothes made by American fashion designers such as Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors.

Some critics say her fashion choices are costlier than what was typically spent by former first ladies, while others don’t seem to care at all.
