President Trump is catching some flak from the fashion police on social media after photos of him using scotch tape to hold his tie in place surfaced online.

After sporting what looked like a new suit and tie during his first joint session of Congress on Feb. 28, President Trump went back to his signature red tie by the end of the week, the Daily Mail reported.

President Trump was seen disembarking Air Force One at Orlando International Airport on March 3 when strong gusts of wind revealed a hidden secret about his signature bright red power tie.

Instead of using a tie clip, the president trusts scotch tape to keep his tie in place.

Photographs of his tape-covered tie blowing in the wind surfaced online, prompting social media users to share their thoughts on the matter.

“Come on! This is a billionaire & he’s president of the USA,” wrote one commenter. “There are things called tie clips or pins which work very well to keep your tie in place. Scotch tape?!?”

Others defended the president’s methods.

“My grandma always said: if it looks stupid but it works, it ain’t stupid,” wrote another commenter. “I have done the same thing. Also how is this in any way relevant news?”

“Tie pins actually wrinkle your ties even tho they look nice,” wrote another. “My grandfather used to do this too and it’s smart because even a tie pin doesn’t keep the bottom of the tie together.”

“People look for anything to bring the man down unbelievable,” wrote another commenter.

One commenter suggested a more efficient method for President Trump to keep his tie in place.

“Velcro would be more classic or a tie pin! He could get them made in China!” the commenter wrote.

This isn’t the first time President Trump appeared to be using tape to hold down his tie.

He was also photographed at his inauguration ceremony in January with tape under his tie, and again in December while disembarking a plane with Vice President Mike Pence in Indiana, the Daily Mail reported.
