A video of a California woman throwing her drink on two men for kneeling during the national anthem at a Los Angeles Lakers game has gone viral (video below).
The woman has been identified as Haley Perea, the Daily Mail reported. In the clip, she is seen approaching two men as they are seated, chucking her drink at them and yelling, “Excuse me, this is for the national anthem you pieces of s**t.” She is then heard calling them “f**kers.”
The woman who recorded the video was identified as Savannah Sugg. She posted the clip on Twitter with the caption: “‘Take a kneel for the land of the slaves.’ Disrespect our flag and our country and that’s how we’ll react.”
The tweet has since been deleted, and both of the woman’s social media accounts are also no longer active. Perea and Sugg are both students at California Baptist University, according to the Daily Mail.
The video sparked outrage among social media users, with some calling for assault charges to be pressed against the two women. Some users even tweeted at Perea’s job at a food restaurant, calling for her termination.
The two men in the video have not been identified at this time.
The “Take a Knee” protest caught a second wind after President Donald Trump commented on the NFL players participating in the demonstration during a rally in Alabama in late September, CNN reported.
“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b***h off the field right now, out, he’s fired. He’s fired,'” Trump said. “You know, some owner is going to do that.
He’s going to say, ‘That guy that disrespects our flag, he’s fired.’ And that owner, they don’t know it [but] they’ll be the most popular person in this country.”
On Oct. 8, Vice President Mike Pence made headlines after he walked out of an Indianapolis Colts game against the San Francisco 49ers because of the demonstrations, Deadline reported.
